Proton is a messaging library. It can be used in brokers, client libraries, routers, bridges and proxies. Proton is based on the AMQP 1.0 messaging standard. This subpackage contains the TLS engine for raw connections, which is usable independently of the AMQP transport.

it worked around and upstream declined the same change
- Link the Python binding against libqpid-proton-core rather than
bundling a private copy of proton-c
- Stop overriding CMAKE_C_FLAGS, which silently dropped the distribution
optflags; disable upstream -Werror instead
- Package libqpid-proton-tls0 for raw connection TLS
- Pin SASL and jsoncpp off instead of autodetecting them
- Run the testsuite for every Python flavour, regenerating the test
certificates that expired in 2025 first
- Make qpid-proton-test noarch and conflict with libqpid-proton10
- Take sources from archive.apache.org and verify their signature
- Stop letting the doc package provide and obsolete qpid-proton
