| Summary: Tool for setting EXIF GPS data | |
GPS Correlate takes a GPS track stored by any of a number of GPS devices and phone apps and correlates the time stamp of a digital photo with the location of the track at that same moment. The location of the image is then stamped directly into the image file using the appropriate EXIF GPS tags. The resulting image then contains not just the time the photo was taken but its exact location, too. The location is used by various other applications and services (such as Google Photos) to display a map of where the photo was taken. This package contains the command line tool and the documentation.
GPL-2.0-or-later
* Tue Aug 11 2026 Martin Pluskal <mpluskal@suse.com>
- Correct the license to GPL-2.0-or-later, which is what the source
headers and the upstream AppStream metadata state
- Split off gpscorrelate-gui and gpscorrelate-doc subpackages so that
the command line tool no longer pulls in GTK
- Pass prefix and docdir when building and not only when installing:
both are compiled into the binaries, so the graphical interface
looked for its help files under /usr/local
- Correct the documentation path in the shipped manual page, which was
generated with the upstream default of /usr/local
- Build with native language support enabled and install the German,
French and Russian message catalogs
- Install the upstream AppStream metadata
- Run the regression test suite in check
- Modernise the specfile:
* drop the obsolete norootforbuild marker and the Group tag
* use pkgconfig() build requires
* drop libxslt-devel, the documentation is not regenerated
* drop the explicit manual page compression, rpm already does that
* Sun Aug 02 2026 Libor Pechacek <lpechacek@gmx.com>
- Update to 2.3
- Link to the new upstream
- Clean up the .spec file
* Fri Mar 13 2009 Radomir Cernoch <radomir.cernoch@gmail.com>
- new package - 1.5.8
- patch taken from debian package
- man-files not produced, they need access to internet
