| Summary: The fast, Pythonic way to build MCP servers and clients | |
FastMCP is the fast, Pythonic way to build Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and clients. This is the full distribution, pulling in fastmcp-slim with the client and server integrations enabled; the importable "fastmcp" module is provided by fastmcp-slim.
Apache-2.0
* Tue Oct 06 2026 Martin Pluskal <mpluskal@suse.com>
- Update to 3.4.8 (3.x maintenance release with security and
bug fixes; no API, dependency or packaging changes):
* Host/Origin protection now also covers the SSE transport,
Cookie headers are excluded from forwarded requests, CIMD
cache growth is bounded, and auth, enabled state and
transforms apply consistently to hashed tool lookups,
injected tools, component manager routes and dev previews
* Client schema types are built with bounded caches, oversized
schemas keep their $ref pointers, OpenAPI components send
only declared arguments while keeping configured headers,
and client CLI arguments pass literally to Windows wrappers
* Tue Aug 11 2026 Martin Pluskal <mpluskal@suse.com>
- Update to 3.4.7:
* Fix CIMD private_key_jwt authentication for OAuthProxy
deployments mounted at a bare origin: the expected client
assertion audience is now derived from the same normalised
token endpoint URL that is advertised in the authorization
server metadata
* Previously Pydantic appended a trailing slash to a bare origin
base_url, so the proxy advertised the token endpoint with a
single slash but validated assertions against a doubled-slash
variant of it; the mismatched audience made spec-following
clients fail authentication with invalid_client
* Path-mounted proxy deployments keep their previous behaviour
* No API, dependency or packaging changes in this release
* Fri Aug 07 2026 Martin Pluskal <mpluskal@suse.com>
- Update to 3.4.6:
* Support trusted SSRF proxies: OAuth metadata and JWKS fetches
can now be routed through a mandated corporate proxy while
preserving custom CA certificates, and the fetch is refused
when no proxy is configured rather than performed unprotected
* Tue Aug 04 2026 Martin Pluskal <mpluskal@suse.com>
- Build all three fastmcp distributions from this one source package:
* the fastmcp-slim subpackage is now produced here instead of from
a separate python-fastmcp-slim source package; its file list and
its dependencies are unchanged, so nothing consuming it breaks
* retires the lockstep that required bumping and staging both
source packages together for every upstream release
* slim now ships a license file, which the upstream fastmcp_slim
sdist does not contain at all
- Package fastmcp-remote: the standalone stdio bridge that lets MCP
clients which spawn local processes reach servers hosted over
Streamable HTTP or SSE
- Set UV_DYNAMIC_VERSIONING_BYPASS so the subprojects are versioned
correctly instead of falling back to 0.0.0 outside a git checkout
- Update URL to the current upstream project location
* Tue Jul 28 2026 Martin Pluskal <mpluskal@suse.com>
- Update to 3.4.5:
* Metapackage bump tracking python-fastmcp-slim 3.4.5
* Thu Jul 09 2026 Martin Pluskal <mpluskal@suse.com>
- Update to version 3.4.4:
* Version sync with python-fastmcp-slim, which carries the
functional changes of this release: the strict Host/Origin
guard defaults added in 3.4.3 are relaxed to restore
compatibility with ASGI, serverless and reverse-proxy
deployments (the guard stays available for opt-in trusted
hosts and origins), plus a new Hugging Face OAuth provider
* Mon Jul 06 2026 Martin Pluskal <mpluskal@suse.com>
- Update to version 3.4.3:
* Version sync with python-fastmcp-slim, which carries all
functional changes of this security and bugfix release (SSRF,
DNS rebinding and OAuth redirect hardening, proxy session and
JSON schema conversion fixes)
* Tue Jun 23 2026 Martin Pluskal <mpluskal@suse.com>
- Update to version 3.4.2
* Fri Jun 19 2026 Martin Pluskal <mpluskal@suse.com>
- Initial package (version 3.4.0)
